Review:
I enjoyed this novel, from the beginning setup, through the torture Paige puts upon longsuffering Oliver in big and small ways, to their enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story. It also made me want to go back to England so badly!
The story begins with four women who meet in O'Hare Airport in December during a weather delay. After sharing their various breakup stories, they form a friendship bound by their commitment to enact karma on each other's exes for revenge. (While it sounds great, we all know it won't end the way they want it to in the airport, don't we?)
Grumpy, neat-freak handsome semi-famous man meets the friend of his ex, a woman who is not who he thinks she is. In truth, she is not herself--she has reinvented herself into a gal who would best torture said Mr. Grumpy Pants. The funny thing is, she may not be the self she's been after her own awful time after her own awful ex--but she is more herself in many ways than she's been in a long time. I liked that part of the character arc very much.
Lovely animal characters with lots of humor there. In fact, I laughed aloud several times in the first half of the novel! Also contains moderate language and spice. Overall, I enjoyed this novel very much.
